On Saturday, November 26, along with the Old Strathcona Business Association, Bird Creatives was proud to produce the fifth annual Winter Whyte Light Up in Edmonton. We were delighted to turn McIntyre Park and 83rd Avenue into a winter wonderland!

Collaborating with partners Goodwill Alberta, Old Strathcona Farmers’ Market, Flying Canoe Volant & La Cite Francophone, Ice on Whyte, Edmonton Public Library, Edmonton Fringe, Acme Circus, Edmonton Food Bank, Old Strathcona Youth Society, The Mustard Seed, The High Level Bridge Streetcar, and Knox Church, we brought a free and family-friendly event to one of Edmonton’s oldest and trendiest neighbourhoods.

With a combination of live music and street performers, framed by fire pits and light installations, the small corner of Whyte Avenue was visited by over 5000 people throughout the 4-hour event. The main event was followed by an after-hours show ‘The Mrs. Claus Holiday Spectacular’ at the Westbury Theatre featuring drag and burlesque performances by some of Edmonton's finest artists.

From ice carving and maple taffy, to carollers and dog nog, it was the perfect event to kick off the holiday season!
